Blood Alcohol Concentration Calculator This calculator estimates your blood alcohol concentration, based on gender, weight, number of drinks consumed and the time since your first drink. Alcohol affects every person differently, and other variables can influence a person's level of intoxication. To use, enter values in the form below, and click "Calculate BAC." One drink equals 0.54 ounces of alcohol. This is the approximate amount found in one shot of distilled spirits, one 12 oz. can of beer, or one 5 oz. glass of wine.
Drivers are legally intoxicated in Pennsylvania if their blood alcohol concentration reaches 0.08, and in New Jersey if their blood alcohol concentration reaches 0.10. But the effects of impairment begins with the first drink, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
