Neighborhood Forum Summaries

About the summaries

Citizens from around Philadelphia and its suburbs took part in a series of 25 forums around the city earlier this year as part of The Inquirer's Citizen Voices project.

These sessions, kicking off a yearlong project on the mayor's race, asked participants to imagine it is the year 2010. Places Rated Almanac has just named Philadelphia the nation's most livable city. Oprah Winfrey is going to do a show asking Philadelphia residents to talk about how their city improved since the turn of the century, who made it happen and how the money and energy were found.

Several participants in the forum played the role of panelists on the show, talking about how Philadelphia improved. The rest played the studio audience, asking skeptical, probing questions.
