Here is some advice on better alternatives for visually impaired people who want to use a computer....

Many firms sell screen magnifiers to place over your monitor.

Others sell software, for both Windows and Macintosh systems, that enlarges onscreen material up to 32 times.

There is software that will translate text into voice, not to mention special displays that convert text into Braille.
